welcome to create memories 🤍

come in, let me show you around

create memories publishes three things:

  • letters from a friend: a letter on something I’ve been thinking about - a lesson from a place, an observation from an ordinary Tuesday, the kind of thing that surfaces on a walk and won’t leave

  • friday five: a friday curation of things that genuinely caught my attention that week, the kind you forward before you’ve finished reading

  • notes from elsewhere: photo essays and living guides - the feeling of places, and guides with here’s what you actually need to know when you get there.

🤍 the easiest way in is to start with whatever sounds most like you right now.

💌 start with a letter, if you want to feel what a regular week looks like:

what i got wrong about making friends as an adult - the one that has sparked the most conversation from people I have sent it to. It’s a good door in.

the light came back, as it always does - written from under a cherry blossom tree, on the lesson these trees give us every year without fail - no dark season lasts forever.

☁️ start with the friday edit, if you love a good rabbit hole:

the japanese bar where nobody speaks - five things, one of which will hopefully be new to you. This week’s has a listening bar, Harry Styles on the slow life, and Ed Sheeran making a song in real time. A good Friday :)

the couple who fit 4,000 paintings into 450 square feet - if you want to understand the specific kind of thing that catches my attention, this edition is a good introduction.

✈️ start with notes from elsewhere, if you’re here for the travel:

🌿 start with the origin pieces if you want to understand where any of this came from:

room 247 - the essay that explains why this publication exists. The patients, the campervan in Queenstown, the promise I made to myself. Read this first if you want the full picture before anything else.

i turned my own music down - on identity, the parts of ourselves we learn to quiet, and what it takes to turn them back up. One of the most personal things I’ve written here.
